1.      Simple Present Tense

Ø  I read one book every month.

Saya membaca satu buku setiap bulan

Ø  This sentences uses simple present tense because of the  verb 1 ‘read’ and they using adverb of time ‘every month’ it means the activities is routine.

2.      Present Continous Tense

Ø  They are playing basket ball right now.

Mereka sedang bermain bola basket sekarang

This sentence uses present continous tense because of v1+ing ‘playing’ and they using adverb of time ‘right now’ it means they are doing the activity now.

3.      Simple Past Tense

Ø  Rani won the live coding contest in his school five days ago

Rani memenangkan kontes live coding lima hari yang lalu

This sentence uses simple past tense because of verb 2 ‘won’ it means the activity already happen, and they using adverb of time ‘ 5 days ago’ to convince this sentence is simple past tense

4.      Simple Perfect tense

Ø  I have lived in Perumnas for 17 years

Saya telah tinggal di Permnas selama 17 tahun

This sentence uses present perfect tense because of have + v3 ‘ have lived’ it means that the writer still lived in perumnas until now.

5.      Simple Future

Ø  I’m going to check my plans for tomorrow

Saya akan mengecek jadwal saya untuk besok

This sentence uses future present tense because there is a word ‘ going to’ and there is adverb of time ‘tomorrow’.

6.      Past Continous tense

Ø  When I arrived Daniel was sleeping on the couch

Saat saya sampai, Daniel sedang tidur di sofa

This sentence uses the conjuction’when’. The first sentence using past tense because of the verb 2 ‘arrived’ and the second sentence using past continous (was+v1-ing) ‘was sleeping’.

7.      While toni was shopping at mall, his house was burning.

Saat toni berbelanja di mall, rumahnya sedang terbakar

This sentence uses the conjuction ‘while’. Both  sentence using past continous (was + v1-ing) ‘was shopping’ and the second sentence using ‘was burning’.

8.      When  I wash my clothes, my mom goes to work

ketika saya mencuci baju, ibu saya berangkat untuk bekerja

This sentence uses the conjuction when therefore the two tenses are used in he present tense ‘wash’ and ‘goes’.

9.      Daniel cooked the dinner last night

Daniel memasak makan malam tadi malam

This sentence uses simple past tense ‘cooked ‘ because of the adverb of time ‘last night’

I am eating donut at the moment.

10.  Aku makan donat sekarang

This sentence uses present continous tense because this sentence uses <to be + v-ing> ‘am +eating’ and the adverb of time is ‘ at the moment’.
